Bollywood stars break the mould: Katrina Kaif to Ajay Devgn step out of their comfort zone to give their screen image a spin

Katrina Fitoor is a Bollywood reimagination of Charles Dickens’ novel Great Expectations, and it sees Katrina play a character based on Estella opposite Aditya Roy Kapoor’s Pip

Screen image can be a double-edged sword.
It could ensure a stardom high if served in right doses. It could also exhaust a star’s popularity if overdone to death.
Bollywood, where stardom is a slave to image, has forever seen its biggest names step outside their comfort zone to give tested image a spin.

The tweak is always aimed at surprising fans with something new, but at the same time it has to be administered in a way it stays in sync with what the particular star’s image primarily defines.
Ajay Devgn’s upcoming Action Jackson is an instance.
The actor known for his intense, often hardhitting, roles was never known to be much of a dancer, which is what he sets out to dispel in the Prabhu Dheva film.
Playing the rugged machoman as always, Ajay adds a funky twist to that image donning the dancing shows for the breakdance-style retro groove, Gangster baby, and the bhangra, Punjabi mast.
