Katrina Kaif says her blood boils on being called Ranbir’s girlfriend!

Katrina Kaif is not just chary of talking about her alleged relationship with Ranbir Kapoor, but her ‘blood boils’ when someone refers to her as his girlfriend.

Understandably so, because she has earned her own stripes over the years in B-Town. So after nine-years of hard work, if she gets to be pigeonholed just as ‘so and so’s girlfriend’, Katrina gets seriously ticked off.

She made this revelation in an interview with Zoom.

“What really makes my blood boil, what really gets me super angry is when someone refers to you as so and so’s girlfriend. For example if Kabir was my boyfriend, (they’d say) ‘Katrina, Kabir’s girlfriend’. When they refer to a girl as someone’s girlfriend that’s not a profession,” Katrina Kaif said.

She was appearing in the interview along with director Kabir Khan to promote her film ‘Phantom’.

Over the years, Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor have become more open about their relationship but they haven’t yet made it official.

Phantom' to be dragged to court by doctors for ‘wrong’ portrayal

The humanitarian non-governmental organization Médecins Sans Frontières popularly known as ‘Doctors Without Borders’ is about to take ‘Phantom’ to the court.  According to the organisation the movie has put the doctors in threat due to the misrepresentation of the group in the storyline.
Established in 1971, Doctors without borders or MSF works in war-torn countries and developing countries facing endemic diseases. The doctors and nurses associated with the group volunteer to provide medical facilities in over 70 countries.
The group has alleged that this Kabir Khan directorial has put its workers at risk with its wrong portrayal in the movie, especially in sensitive regions.
“We have contacted the film’s production team and are taking legal action in order to correct this dangerous misrepresentation of our organisation and its work,” MSF said in a statement issued on Aug 27th.
The movie shows a MSF worker, played by actress Katrina Kaif aiding an Indian soldier kill Pakistani terrorists. Katrina is also shown with a rifle and pistol which according to MSF is a clear violation of their strict no-guns policy.
“Any portrayal that suggests MSF does anything other than provide medical care could endanger our patients, staff, our ability to work in places where people might not otherwise have access to healthcare and undermine our reputation,” MSF added in the statement on their website.
“None of our staff would ever carry a gun. Any portrayal that suggests otherwise is dangerous, misleading and wrong.”
The organisation has a policy of not choosing sides in conflicted regions like Syria, Afghanistan and Yemen. They also explained why it is important for them to follow strict policies, “If warring parties see aid organisations as being on one side of a conflict, we are less likely to gain access to those in need and more likely to be attacked.”
Released this Friday, this Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer ‘Phantom’ traces the story of a soldier on a journey to revenge the 26/11 attacks that shook Mumbai and the entire nation. The movie already invited controversies when Jama'at-ud-Da'wah chief Hafiz Saeed filed a petition to ban the movie in Pakistan and it was granted too. This fresh controversy is bound to put the filmmakers in a bad spot.

Aditya Roy Kapur and I have a funny equation: Katrina Kaif

Katrina Kaif and Aditya Roy Kapur got along quite well while filming Fitoor and it was because -- you’ll never guess -- they both have a history of working together.

Yes, working together. Katrina Kaif and Aditya Roy Kapur have been part of two projects together in the past. They themselves had almost forgotten about it, but got to refresh their memory while shooting for ‘Fitoor’ in which they are romantically paired.

Katrina recalls working with Aditya 11 years ago.

“Adi and me have been working since the same time. He had interviewed me as a VJ for my film ‘Humko Deewana Kar Gaye’. We searched for the interview on YouTube and laughed our heads off. And then Adi pointed it out to me that 11 years ago, on my second or third ad film, Adi featured as one of the boys in the group. He was in the ad and you can see him very clearly. We looked for that ad too and had a good laugh about it as well,” Katrina Kaif told PTI in an interview.

The 32-year-old star said she shares a good equation with Aditya Roy Kapur.

“We have a funny equation. We both have been working for long but obviously I have done many more films. He is a really nice person. He is also part of my friend circle. We knew each other well already,” Katrina Kaif added.

The actress is awaiting the release of her movie ‘Phantom’ on Friday.

Katrina Kaif saddened with Rekha's exit from Fitoor

  As Rekha walked out of the upcoming movie Fitoor, Katrina Kaif has become very sad and says that it was great experience working with the veteran actress.

Tabu stepped into Rekha’s shoes in Abhishek Kapoor’s upcoming directorial romantic-drama, which features Aditya Roy Kapur and Katrina in leading roles.

Expressing disappointment over Rekha’s departure from the movie, Katrina said, "It (working with Rekha) was nice. But then she and the producers decided to part ways for their own reasons. That was very sad because I have known Rekha ji for a long time and we have our own independent equation together. That was the only sad thing. Every film has its destiny and you have to respect that."

The movie, which is an adaptation of Charles Dickens' classic novel Great Expectations, features Tabu as Begum, which is based on the character of Miss Havisham.

However, Fitoor, which will also see Aditi Rao Hydari, Lara Dutta, Rahul Bhatt in pivotal roles, will hit silver screens on February 12, 2016.

Katrina Kaif: Had asked Kabir if it is safe to make 'Phantom'

 

When director Kabir Khan first narrated the plot of his upcoming film "Phantom" to Katrina Kaif, her immediate concern was whether it would be safe to make the movie. "Phantom", an action-thriller on the aftermath of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, has been banned in Pakistan much before its release due to its controversial subject.

"Whether it was 9/11 in 'New York' or the strained Indo-Pak relation in 'Ek Tha Tiger'. To do that you need to be well informed, which he is because of his experience. So when he told me about the film, I immediately asked him 'Are you sure it is safe to make the film?' He said yes, and then explained more about the film," Kaif told PTI. The 32-year-old "Bang Bang" actress said Kabir brings a certain grounding on the table which makes his films, especially "Phantom", credible and relevant. "He likes to give his films a certain grounding and likes to see them as 'Why not'. When you have such relevant topics in the world today, and which are dramatic, why would you not use it as a backdrop for your film?." "Phantom" is based on Hussain Zaidi's book "Mumbai Avengers" and stars Saif Ali Khan opposite Katrina. The actress, however, said the film will be slightly different from the book. "In the book there are five main characters, but in the movie we kind of combined them into two. That's the primary difference. This way it is easier to follow. Otherwise there would have been chances of losing the track. "The film is based on facts but the screenplay and the outcome is fictional. The film says 'A story you wish were true' but after you see the film, audience will say this is a story which could be true. Had there been any loopholes in the script or things were too convenient, it wouldn't have interested me," she said. "Phantom" releases this Friday. -

"I will be a good wife to Ranbir”, quips Katrina Kaif

Katrina Kaif now openly talks about her relationship with actor Ranbir Kapoor. The couple has been living together for the past ten months and has been in a happy state. Katrina, who is now looking forward to her next release, ‘Phantom’ candidly, spoke about Ranbir and films during an interview with NDTV.  During the chait-chat, Kat confessed that she would make a good wife and also cited the reason.
Katrina Kaif said that she will make a good wife not because she is caring, but because another of her attributes. "The quality I have, that would make me a good life partner to somebody is my loyalty," she said.

You work ya, I am happy doing my work if little things come in the paper it’s fine. But what I wonder is when I apply my mind to it, who is the person who has come up with this? Is this a person who loves negativity in life? Do they want to be unhappy? Do they want us to be unhappy? Paper mein aaya, I came in to the party uninvited… First of all, what kind of person goes to a party uninvited? Secondly, it’s not a party, it’s a wrap party for a movie that I am not in, why am I going to be there? If it’s a success party then ya definitely I’ll come and 100% I’ll come because I am a huge Imtiaz Ali fan. Thirdly, if I would have gone, you really think that people would have not been nice and happy? I mean c’mon ya, we are all nice, grown-up, civilized people. Fourthly, the other way that we can think of it is that I was so involved in my character in Phantom where I am spying in the film right, I was SO involved in my character that I forgot and went to that party to spy on him. So, you you can choose whichever answer you want!”

Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif Don Nerdy Looks in 'Jagga Jasoos'

Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif-starrer "Jagga Jasoos," directed by Anurag Basu has been scheduled for June 3, 2016 release after several delays. The film has been in the making for almost two years already and we have even managed to see a few pictures of Ranbir and Katrina on the sets of the films.  Ranbir plays the role of a young detective who is in search of his father. It's a suspense musical with around 17 songs.

 

Ranbir and Katrina play young and intelligent characters. To aid that Basu has given both of them a nerdy look. Both Ranbir and Katrina will be seen wearing glasses in the film, and as they will be on the move a lot, you will see them carrying backpacks in many portions of the film.
